The low-power infrared (4R NDIR) detector is an industrial gas detector used for the real-time detection of gas concentration changedeveloped by Intersense Shanghai independently according to the international demands and with the non-dispersive infrared detection technology (NDIR) and the LED low-power design. Our infrared detector R&D team gets the technical talents with rich knowledge and experience in design, manufacturing and application of infrared gas detector together. The relevant R&D personnel have more than 10-year work experience, and have been dedicated to the gas detection field for many years, and accumulated rich practical experience.
Compared with the catalytic combustion detector, our 4R NDIR detector is featured with good signal to noise ratio, resistance to cross gas interference, high precision, long-term good stability, high product conformity and long service life, etc. The 5-plug design of the product is compatible with the simulation voltage and digital serial output, has obtained the European and US intrinsic safety and explosion-proof certifications, and can avoid the risks in the current product design to the maximum extent, and be widely used in various detection applications. Application field
Meanwhile, the infrared detector is very sensitive to the humidity so it is prone to moisture condensation in the rainy weather or when the temperature between day and night is large, and the moisture condensation will affect the reflection of optical path, resulting in the wrong gas detection and the wrong warning. For this characteristic, our low-power infrared detector integrates the temperature parameters, and makes a breakthrough in the humidity parameters to make sure that no warning is given in case of moisture condensation and the normal response is made when there is the target gas. Therefore, this product can be widely used in the municipal gas facilities, underground pipelines, coal mine warning, oil and gas recovery, petroleum and petrochemical, winery security monitoring, petrol stations and other fields.

Notices for product application
4R NDIR detector is a kind of optical detector. The optical path directly affects the performance of the detector so the use of detector shall avoid squeezing or polluting the optical path face. (1) Never tear off the white dustproof film at the top of the detector to prevent the external dust and dirt from entering the optical chamber of the detector and thus affecting the detector performance; (2) avoid squeezing the top of detector, for fear of deforming the optical path of the detector.
Operating environment
This sensor can be used under a wide environmental conditions, including some bad environments. However, for the validity and stability of the detector, it shall be exposed in the high-concentration solvent vapor during its storage, installation and operation. Otherwise, the solvent may corrode the metal coating and thus affect the performance of the detector. When the printed circuit board is used, the use of degreaser is suggested before installing the detector. It is not suggested to directly put the solvent on or near the detector, in order to avoid plastic cracking due to the solvent.
Safety test
This detector is used in the key safety protection and warning fields. To ensure the normal operation of the detector in the instrument during every application, the customer is suggested to expose the instrument in the target gas for simultaneous test and verification before use. If the verification fails, the detector shall not be used, for fear of causing the safety damage of personnel and property.
